Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Lisa.

The Golden Shoreline is more than an art studio—it’s the coming together of a lifelong love for the coast, a passion for giving new life to forgotten treasures, and the belief that beauty is often found in life’s imperfect moments.

Growing up, my mom always collected shells, and family vacations to Fort Myers became some of my favorite memories. My husband and I often dreamed that one day we’d retire along Florida’s Gulf Coast. Life had other plans, and that opportunity arrived a little sooner than we expected.

After moving to Florida, I worked at one of my favorite bathing suit stores before retiring...again! But creativity has always had a way of calling me back.

Long before The Golden Shoreline began, I owned a repurposed home décor shop in Indiana. I loved taking something old, overlooked, or worn and transforming it into something beautiful again. Looking back, I realize that restoration has always been at the heart of everything I’ve created.

Then Hurricane Ian changed everything.

Like so many along the Gulf Coast, we lost nearly everything. Rebuilding our lives took time, patience, and more resilience than I ever imagined. Somewhere during that journey, I discovered the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi—the art of honoring brokenness by repairing it with gold rather than hiding the cracks.

Its message resonated deeply with me.

Today, every oyster shell and eggshell that enters my studio is thoughtfully transformed by hand. I don’t try to erase the natural imperfections. Instead, I celebrate them, believing that each piece carries its own unique beauty and story.

My hope is simple.

I want every piece I create to bring a sense of peace, calm, and joy into someone’s home. Whether it’s a handcrafted keepsake, a piece of coastal artwork, or a meaningful gift, I hope it serves as a gentle reminder that beauty isn’t found in perfection—it’s found in resilience, restoration, and the stories we carry.

Thank you for supporting handmade art, small businesses, and my dream of sharing the calming spirit of the coast with others.

Every piece I create carries a little of that journey with it, and I hope it finds a special place in yours.

Welcome to The Golden Shoreline.
